parish ecumenical activites
St Thomas of Canterbury, St Margaret's and Station Road Methodists make up make up ‘Churches Together’ in Rainham. Meetings are held about four times a year and the Vicar of St. Margaret’s, or a curate, attend whenever possible in order to put the Clergys’ views and to co-ordinate with the Clergy Fraternal.
Ecumenical services are arranged throughout the year, often on a rota basis between the three churches, the most popular being the ‘Harvest Supper’ which is a real opportunity for the various congregations to mix and talk together over a pleasant, informal meal. Christmas, Easter and Pentecost, of course, provide more opportunities and very genuine and lasting friendships are formed as a result.
