Marriage Preparation
If you want to get married within our church then please make an appointment for you and your partner to meet Fr.Tom.
It is diocesan policy that there should be a minimum of six months notice given before a wedding but most couples book well in advance of that. Fr.Tom will explain all the procedures that you will need to undertake which will include taking part in a preparatory day run by ‘Marriage Care’ counsellors.
MARRIAGE CARE
(Catholic Marriage Care Ltd)
‘Marriage Care’ is a voluntary organisation offering counselling help to anyone who has difficulties in their relationships. Our counsellors are carefully selected and supervised. They each undertake two years intensive accredited training by the University College of Ripon and York St John.
Besides counselling, our counsellors also help prepare couples proposing to marry. Couples are asked to attend one of the day courses which are usually held three times a day between March and August. For an appointment telephone: 0800 389 3801
