gift aid
When you give money to the parish through your Offertory collections, please consider signing a ‘Gift Aid Declaration’ in favour of the parish. This forms an agreement to give to the parish the income tax you have already paid to the Inland Revenue on the amount you donate. The form does not want to know how much you will be donating and indeed you may donate as little or as much as you wish using the special numbered weekly offertory boxes. You may also donate by bankers order or cheque, weekly, monthly or annually.
All weekly offerings and most second collections may be ‘Gift Aided’ and also Christmas and Easter offerings to the clergy and regular Mass stipends. It is worthwhile ‘Gift Aiding’ any amount from as low as a few pence weekly. It all adds up.
There are no disadvantages to this scheme and it costs nothing more than you are already giving.
If you are a taxpayer and most of you are, even pensioners, and you would be interested in increasing every £1 of your donations by 28 pence for the benefit of your church by the 'GIFT AID' system. Please complete an application form found at the back of the church and return it to 63 London Road, Rainham, Kent, ME8 7RH
Please feel free to contact Chris and Yvonne Iles (01634) 373840 or email us, any time if you have any questions.
